BORT Dorsal metacarpal orthosis

Wrist orthoses support injured tissue structures (joints, ligaments, capsules, cartilage). The orthosis supports the fingers, hand and wrist. Wound immobilization is important for wound healing. Especially for wounds that are located near joints. All or individually selected fingers can be fixed and used with a splint for the purpose of early rehabilitation. The preformed orthosis has the carpal joint part at an angle of 70-80° and wrist flexibility of 25°. Immobilization in a protected position tightens the ligaments of the metatarsal joint, thereby preventing contractures.

How to use:

Upon receipt, the orthosis is anatomically preformed. If necessary, shape the orthosis under the guidance of a specialist or doctor! Before putting on the orthosis, open the Velcro fasteners, place the splint on the back of the hand and close the fasteners on the wrist and hand. Then close the other attachments. Finally, fasten the finger strap. If the straps are too long, they can be cut. The integrated splint can be adjusted and removed if necessary.
The BORT dorsal cone orthosis can only be adjusted by a specialist or a doctor!

INDICATIONS
Pre-operative, post-traumatic or post-operative irritations in the wrist. Injuries and diseases of the wrist and phalanges that make immobilization necessary (eg infections)
CONTRAINDICATIONS Peripheral artery disease, lymph drainage disorder and unclear tissue swelling, sensory loss and blood flow disorders in the corresponding body part, skin irritations in the corresponding body part. Tendon damage, compression syndrome, burns.
