General description
Haemoglobin saturation is the percentage of blood oxyhaemoglobin (HbO2), which is the total volume of haemoglobin that is able to be enriched with oxygen (Hb) in the blood, in other words the amount of oxyhaemoglobin in the blood. This is an important parameter for the respiratory circulatory system. Many respiratory diseases can lead to a decrease in SPO2 saturation. Moreover, a decrease in oxygen production can be caused by many factors that lead to a decrease in haemoglobin saturation, such as autoimmune dysfunction caused by analgesia, intense post-operative trauma, pain syndrome after some medical procedures, etc., which have contributed to adverse symptoms such as fainting, vomiting and feeling faint and so on. In addition to this, if not given proper treatment it can lead to a threat to one’s life.

The fingertip pulse oximeter is small in size, low in power consumption, easy to handle and portable. The device’s display clearly shows the required haemoglobin saturation level. In a clinical trial, the pulse oximeter has been proven to be accurate and can repeat a more accurate and stable measurement of SPO2.
