BORT Valco Soft Hallux-Light-Splint

This medical device is a corrective big toe cam splint and it corrects
wrong X-position of the big toe. Adjustable closure allows correction pressure
smooth and individual regulation.

Indications
Bunch of the big toe, treatment result after bunion surgery
for maintenance, to reduce the load on the capsule after surgery.

Contraindications
Risk of thrombosis, advanced varicose veins, peripheral arterial occlusion disease, lymphatic circulation disorders, also soft tissue swelling of unclear cause in parts of the body located away from the installed aid, sensory and blood supply disorders in the corresponding body area, skin diseases in the corresponding body part, latex allergy

This medical device is a product that can be issued on the basis of a prescription in certain cases. Consult your doctor regarding usage and duration. The appropriate size is selected and the use of the product is guided by the special personnel from whom you purchased the medical device. – remove the medical device before radiological examinations – if it is prescribed to be worn at night, avoid affecting the blood circulation

Important:
To avoid pressure points, there is a padded aluminum reinforcement bar
to be molded to fit individual anatomical features before first fitting.

Installation guide
The first step is to completely open the orthosis case and place it down.
Then, place the foot that needs support on the orthosis so that the front side reinforcement bar ends at the tip of the big toe.
The next step is to put the fastening strap around the foot and fasten the velcro with suitable pressure.
In doing so, it must be ensured that the inserted thumb pad, turned outwards, is located as far as possible in the middle of the front part of the foot, behind the protrusions of II-IV metatarsals.

Next, put the big toe strap under the appropriate tension around the big toe and close the corresponding velcro.
